From the Pastor’s Desk

Is there anything or anyone you have been taking for granted lately?
I believe this question deserves an answer, especially in this month of November when we celebrate Thanksgiving. We need to open our eyes and see the blessings that God has bestowed on us. There are some things in life that may appear for us to be insignificant, but they are essential for our growth as a person.

It is always good to give thanks! I believe that we have much more to be thankful for in this country than we have to be proud about. We have much more to be thankful for in this life than we will ever have to be proud about. A thankless person is a miserable person.  To be unthankful is to be selfish. I think that when our complaints outnumber our thanks . . . we are completely out of balance.

Every time I make a mental list of the people and things in my life for which I have need to be thankful, I always end up feeling like the most blessed man in the whole world! The things in my life that seem so bad and destructive are brought into better focus when I am full of thanks, so that I can plainly see how those negative things are really only small, insignificant annoyances compared to the endless blessings bestowed upon me from above.

Every day is Thanksgiving Day when our hearts are full of gratitude.
Let’s join the Psalmist when he says in Psalm 138:

“I give you thanks, O LORD, with my whole heart;
before the gods I sing your praise;
I bow down toward your holy temple
and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness;
for you have exalted your name and your word above everything.
On the day I called, you answered me,
you increased my strength of soul.”

I am grateful for this opportunity to be in ministry with you, communicate with you, and possibly inspire you to expand your greatest attitude – GRATITUDE!  What are you thankful for?

Be grateful!  Happy Thanksgiving!!

Your servant in Christ, Pastor Jorge
